Paying suppliers in China in yuan: prepare your UR request

Prepare a China supplier payment request with the invoice, beneficiary name, account type and yuan target, then check the exchange rate, fees and expected net payout.

Start with the invoice and supplier details

Before requesting a yuan deposit quote, have the invoice or goods description, supplier name and origin country ready. Specify whether your target is a dollar spending total or the exact yuan amount the supplier needs to receive. This distinction prevents fees from reducing an amount the supplier expected in full.

Match the beneficiary and receiving method

Ask the supplier to confirm the account holder and receiving details in writing, and compare them with the invoice. State the requested account type or receiving method so UR can check availability. A method mentioned by a supplier is not necessarily supported for every request. Confirm any changed bank details through a contact channel you already know.

Check the complete yuan quote

Ask for the reference amount and currency, exchange rate and quotation unit, fees, expected net yuan payout and quote validity. As an illustration without a fixed market rate, if the invoice requires an exact yuan amount, ask for the total dollars payable including fees instead of assuming that converting a dollar amount alone covers the invoice.

After submitting your request

Keep the invoice, confirmed details, quote, receipt and reference. Follow the status in your account and ask for confirmation when the deposit is completed. A payment receipt alone does not confirm that the supplier account has been credited. Contact UR about any beneficiary or account discrepancy before paying again.
